Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing support and guidance to young individuals during the evening as well as cleaning, laundry and organizing tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving and a strong understanding of the needs of youth, particularly those facing emotional or behavioral difficulties. Duties Checking residents at least every 3 hours (unless there is documentation ie sleep hygiene chart stating more or less frequency) and documenting time and status ie sleeping soundly, awake Assisting residents who may require wake ups for toileting (this will be described in a night time chart) again documentation must be completed accurately Assisting residents who may suffer from night time enuresis ensuring that the resident has been provided with clean pjs, clean bedding, proper sanitization, and settled back into sleep Understand and follow each client daily routines and behaviour support plans Daily completion of laundry-such as bath towels, face cloths, dish towels must be folded and put away in the proper linen closets (see house planner) Completion of laundry for each resident day staff will have set out the laundry the daily house log will identify as to which resident it is. Complete preparation of all snacks and baking, entree meal items requirements as per the menu Daily completion of cleaning -complete night checklist, floors, washrooms, kitchen cleaning Completion of weekly grocery list, as per menu items Provide support in daily activities, including meal preparation and hygiene routines. Engage youth in behaviour management strategies to promote positive interactions and emotional well-being. Administer medication as required, ensuring compliance with care plans. Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents, contributing to case management documentation. All repairs and maintenance requests are send on Maintenance Request Form Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience in caregiving or support roles, particularly within settings such as nursing homes, care homes, or assisted living facilities. Familiarity with medical terminology, Alzheimer''s care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care is advantageous. The ability to perform heavy lifting may be required when assisting individuals with mobility challenges. Experience in case management and behaviour management will be highly regarded.
