Position Summary Temporary Full-Time Appendix D Support Staff, replacement contract position (March 23, 2026, to September 17, 2027) The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Nurse is responsible for confirming and monitoring students'' compliance with health requirements for WIL placements, in accordance with program policies. This role includes communicating requirements to students, validating documentation, and ensuring accurate data entry in the H.S.TRAX system. The WIL Nurse also serves as a subject matter expert on infection control, providing guidance on current practices and supporting program areas in managing compliance Successful candidates will be required to conduct work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus as required. It is anticipated that this position will meet the needs of the department through a hybrid work arrangement, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with three days on-site at the Doon campus located at 299 Doon Valley Dr. in Kitchener, and two days remote. Responsibilities Coordinating and implementing clinical processes Maintain rapport with local Public Health offices and communicate changes to the college through the Associate Director, WIL Increase student awareness of recommended health requirements Consult with the Associate Director, WIL, to collaborate on best practices Act as an expert on infection control related to WIL requirements, bringing recommendations to the Associate Director, WIL, on how to best institute health practices Contribute clinical input to the ongoing review of WIL health requirements and the related processes and forms to ensure practices are current and information to students is the most helpful in gaining compliance Monitor H.S.TRAX to identify database concerns and issues; working collaboratively with the Associate Director, WIL, to resolve issues Student certification and compliance Review, track, verify, and certify WIL health requirements Liaise with WIL staff who are participating in the data collection and verification process Manage deadlines in collaboration with WIL staff Participate in the development and distribution of packages for all applicable programs Communicate requirements for compliance to students, providing ongoing student support related to Q&As and scheduling student appointments for completion issues, advising students on expectations and implications Assist international students in the completion of WIL health requirements, in particular, liaising with the Medical Clinic or other clinics to obtain completion in a timely fashion Representation and support Maintain a productive working relationship with the Schools and departments at Conestoga Provide input and support to WIL staff and Program Coordinators of assigned programs to analyse H.S.TRAX reports and compliance Promote good public relations through contacts with personnel from other educational facilities and health care agencies Qualifications Four-year degree in Nursing is required Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse in the Province of Ontario is required Minimum five years of clinical experience in a health care agency is required Occupational health and safety and infection control experience is considered an asset Ability to acquire knowledge of immunization requirements and other WIL requirements, such as criminal reference checks Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in working with Conestoga students and staff High level of organizational skills for scheduling appointments and prioritizing during peak times Ability to work independently with frequent interruptions
