More information about the venue can be found at We are currently searching for a committed, professional, and reliable Chef du Cuisine, with an immediate opening for this FULL-TIME position. Position Summary Reporting to the Culinary Director, the Chef du Cuisine is the on-site lead chef responsible for overseeing all culinary functions. This role provides hands-on leadership in the kitchen, ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality food, and manages day-to-day culinary operations in alignment with organizational standards, budgets, and health and safety requirements. The Chef du Cuisine also plays a key role in staff development, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Culinary Leadership & Food Quality o Act as the lead, on-site chef for all culinary services and events. o Prepare, cook, and present food to a consistently high standard. o Develop, execute, and maintain menus in collaboration with the Culinary Director. o Ensure quality, portion control, presentation, and taste standards are met at all times. o Maintain consistency across all culinary functions and services. Team Leadership & Training o Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff. o Foster a positive, professional, and respectful workplace culture. o Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback. o Ensure staff are properly trained in food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety. Operations & Scheduling o Create and manage staff schedules in accordance with operational needs and the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA). o Oversee daily kitchen operations, workflow, and staffing levels. o Ensure appropriate coverage for all services, events, and peak periods. Financial & Inventory Management o Order food, supplies, and equipment in a cost-effective manner. o Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and minimize waste. o Monitor and control food and labour costs to meet budgetary targets. o Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis related to culinary operations. Compliance, Health & Safety o Ensure full compliance with Ontario health regulations, food safety standards, and workplace safety legislation. o Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. o Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed at all times. Collaboration & Reporting o Work closely with the Culinary Director on planning, strategy, and continuous improvement. o Communicate operational needs, challenges, and opportunities effectively. o Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and special projects as required. Other o Other special duties, projects, and assignments, as required to meet business needs. Requirements Proven experience in a senior culinary leadership role (Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or equivalent). Superior culinary skills with a strong understanding of kitchen operations A strong command of the English language. Bilingualism is an asset, but is not required. Wages This is a full-time, salaried position. We offer a competitive wage, commensurate with experience, benefits, and a professional working environment. This position''s wage will start at between $75,000-$85,000 per year, with the potential for upward advancement following a standard probationary period, as well as into the future, subject to annual reviews.
