Job Summary The Floral Product & Purchasing Specialist will manage procurement, logistics, and creative presentation of floral products with a specialized focus on Latin American markets. This position integrates purchasing and cold chain logistics with artistic design, Spanish-language communication, and floral care expertise. Responsibilities Source floral products from South American suppliers (mainly Ecuador and Colombia) Evaluate vendors, negotiate pricing and delivery schedules Create and track purchase orders, coordinate invoices and import documentation Analyze product samples and vendor performance for product line expansion Supervise cold chain logistics and temperature-sensitive transport Coordinate with customs agents and freight forwarders Troubleshoot delays, damages, or compliance issues during shipment Contribute to floral presentation, event installations, and visual merchandising Propose seasonal arrangements and product display layouts Use Adobe Creative Suite for design content and marketing material Communicate with vendors in fluent Spanish, navigating cultural norms Build lasting supplier relationships across Latin American regions Inspect floral shipments for damage, pest signs, hydration, and freshness Apply floral care protocols and post-harvest hydration techniques Monitor temperature, humidity, and ethylene exposure during storage Support clients with floral care guidance and customized display solutions Conduct on-site visits to event venues and floral showrooms Participate in industry events and travel to South America for supplier engagement Stay current on floral trends, packaging aesthetics, and cold chain innovation Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Diploma or degree in Industrial Design, Floral Design, Fine Arts, or related creative field Minimum 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or floral operations Proven track record in floral product sourcing and quality assurance Familiarity with cold chain systems and floral handling best practices Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and intermediate or higher level in Excel required Specific Skills or Certifications Required Native or near-native fluency in Spanish (spoken and written) Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities Solid knowledge of flower hydration, preservation, and floral display setup Understanding of colour theory, visual composition, and product presentation Ability to translate creative ideas into commercial floral installations Comfortable using inventory systems, documenting purchases, and tracking imports- Reliable, punctual, and physically fit to work in a cold storage and fast-paced environment Please Note: Sunday''s work Required-Twice per months Job Type: Full-time Pay: $37.10 per hour Expected hours: 30 per week Benefits: Extended health care Experience: Purchasing, logistics, or floral operations: 2 years (required) Language: Spanish (required) Work Location: In person
