Company Description Blumara is a naval architecture & marine engineering firm working on real vessels, from concepts to practical delivery. We''re looking for a Marine Technician or Technologist to help produce clear, accurate platform-systems operational documentation which include practical, reality-based descriptions of how systems are operated and how operators interact with them in day-to-day and abnormal conditions. What you''ll do Develop and maintain operational documentation that explains how platform systems are used in practice Gather and interpret inputs from technical and operational sources (SME interviews, procedures, manuals, maintenance/defect context, trials, and existing documentation) Translate that information into structured operational narratives (modes of operation, constraints, normal/abnormal operations, operator actions, interfaces, and limitations) Ensure documents are consistent, defensible, and easy to use, with strong version control and quality checks Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and operations stakeholders to validate content and resolve ambiguities Produce briefings/summaries as needed for client stakeholders What we''re looking for Required: 5+ years in naval/marine platform operations, engineering, maintenance, or in-service support Strong understanding of platform systems and operator/maintainer realities Excellent technical writing: you can turn messy inputs into clear, structured, unambiguous documentation Strong document discipline (templates, traceability, version control) Able to work on-site in Halifax and eligible for Canadian security screening Strongly Preferred: Former RCN MARTECH (or equivalent naval marine engineering trade experience) 10+ years relevant experience Experience writing or maintaining operational/procedural/system documentation in a defence/government context Diploma in Marine Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline Why Blumara?
