Position Summary: The Customer Care Technician (CCT) is a primary customer facing role, responsible for in-home inspection, diagnosis, and resolution of homeowner warranty concerns. The CCT is to build trust with clients by employing timely, clear, and consistent communications, accurately documenting issues, following through on service commitments, and holding trade partners accountable for their quality of work. The CCT is expected to effectively communicate with co-workers, trades, suppliers, and customers using phone, email, or in person as directed. The CCT is a hands-on role, with a focus on resolving issues directly and effectively, with minimal disruption to clients. The CCT is to liaise with the Customer Care Administrator to effectively plan and execute trade days and complex repairs and is to supervise contractors performing work in client homes whenever practical. Key Responsibilities: External Relations: Listen to homeowners and understand their concerns even in complex situations. Interact with clients in a competent and courteous manner. Answer client inquiries correctly during inspections or service appointments, regarding all phases of home maintenance, specific conditions, or repairs. Maintaining a commitment to balancing interests and ''doing the right thing''. Customer Care: Take initiative and demonstrate creativity in achieving successful resolutions. Coordinates and directs warranty operations through effective planning, scheduling, and communications with external partners. Participates in emergency on-call rotation for after-hours emergency service if required. Be conversant in the New Home Buyers Protection Act, as well as Alberta''s Construction Materials Performance Guide. Follow the principles of the Act and New Home Warranty guidelines and be conversant in Alliston''s 3rd party New Home Warranty insurance provider''s policies and guidelines. Follow and enforce compliance with company and OHS safety policy and regulations while on site. Assist general construction operations at the direction of the Construction Manager. Communication: Clear & timely communication regarding assigned responsibilities. Face to face, phone, and electronic communications with Customers. Reporting of work order progress, unusual or unsafe conditions on job sites, reporting of unusual or significant deficiencies, reporting of missed schedule events, or significant trade concerns, and communications with external clients, trades and consultants as required. Report to the Construction Time Management: Prioritizes assigned tasks efficiently, able to adjust priorities as required, able to organize others, able to execute project schedule and track critical events, able to manage repair process and maintain baseline schedules. Inspection & Diagnosis: Determine if required work should be Charges Authorized, or, No Charge Warranty. Identify immediate issues as well as underlying or contributing factors. Effective resolution of warranty issues so as to avoid future recurrence. Service & Repair: Self-perform repair tasks including, but not limited to framing, drywall, painting, finishing, detailing/cleaning, adjusting, demolishing, removing, installing, or other such construction activity as required for a particular repair. Provide service work in Show homes and Sales Centers as requested by the Sales Department, and as scheduled by the CCA. Qualifications and Educational Requirements: Bondable; Prior residential construction supervision experience for a residential home builder or major trade discipline. Continuing Education in Construction disciplines considered an asset. ASCA Training considered an asset. Current First Aid. Valid Driver''s License. High School education. Fluent English speaker, written and oral. Basic to intermediate computer literacy; proficient in Outlook, functional in MS Word and MS Excel.
