Job Description Overview Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is recruiting for a Piping Engineer in Training (EIT) to support its Projects Canada portfolio. This opportunity is hybrid and based in Edmonton, AB. EITs will work within multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple projects, gaining hands-on experience and professional development while progressing toward registration as a Professional Engineer. The Role The Piping Engineer in Training will support detailed engineering activities for piping systems across a range of projects within Projects Canada. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers, the role will involve applying engineering fundamentals, learning industry codes and standards, and contributing to engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Global collaboration with industry experts shaping engineering standards worldwide Responsibilities Understand international Codes and Standards and adapt in detailed engineering work Piping system calculations for pipe stress analysis, thickness selections etc. Work on diverse engineering software like AutoPipe, Caesar, FEPipe, AFT Impulse, Abaqus, ANSYS etc. Develop piping material specifications for piping, valves, and specialty items Development of specifications, datasheets, lists, etc. Support the engineering for procurement of specialties, valves, bulks etc. Input to the Technical Bid evaluation from the vendor proposals Originate, review and check engineering documents, supplier documents etc. Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering Eligibility for registration with APEGA as an Engineer in Training (EIT) Aptitude for detailed engineering and strong understanding of engineering fundamentals Previous industrial or EPC experience in Canada or the United States (including internships or summer roles) is desirable Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application Please include a copy of your academic transcripts when applying.
