Position Summary Reporting to the Regional Vice President of Sales & Customer Care, the District Sales Manager Utility is responsible for developing and maintaining business within the Ontario utility market across all product lines as a member of the Canadian Sales team. The incumbent will focus on establishing and growing relationships with utility customers, ensuring alignment of company solutions to meet their technical and operational requirements. This role covers the Ontario region and requires both strategic account management and hands-on sales engagement. Primary / Essential Responsibilities Establish and grow relationships with utility accounts, leveraging industry knowledge, technical expertise, and networking skills to identify opportunities. Determine market segmentation, target accounts, and key decision-makers to maximize business development. Coordinate sales efforts with internal sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment and strategic execution. Communicate emerging needs and market trends to product development and engineering teams for integration into solutions and offerings. Maintain and manage an opportunity pipeline within the territory. Conduct sales presentations, technical design discussions, site visits, and order negotiations. Assist application engineers with quote preparation (technical and commercial). Provide territory reporting and ensure specifications meet customer requirements. Develop long-term, trusted relationships with utility customers, consultants, contractors, and internal teams. Required Qualifications Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to establish credibility and trust with all levels of the organization and external customers. Bachelors degree or CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) in a technical or related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience within the utility market. Deep understanding of the electrical utility industry and utility procurement processes. Hunter mentality: proactive, results-oriented, and driven to close opportunities. Established network of industry contacts, including key utility decision-makers. Excellent written and verbal communication, technical aptitude, and analytical skills. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business software (Salesforce preferred). CSA knowledge is an asset.
