Eligible applicants for the Experienced Officer posting must: Be a current sworn police officer with a minimum of 2 years of policing experience with a Canadian federal, provincial, municipal or First Nations police service, (*Basic police training time may be included in the 2-year experience calculation), or a former police officer who has been separated from their police service or agency for less than 2 years. Have a minimum of Alberta Grade 12 or equivalent education (certificate required). Have Proof of their Canadian citizenship or permanent residency. Must submit a driver''s abstract dated within six months of application, with no more than five (5) demerit points. Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (proof of pardon required), nor have any criminal charges before the courts. COMPENSATION Successful Experienced Officer applicants hired by the LPS may receive: Up to $5000 moving allowance with the submission of taxable receipts.
