Job Overview The District Manager leads a group of The Joint Cannabis shops in delivering guest experiences with consistent operational excellence. In this role we require a committed, handson leader who upholds our high standards, executes with precision and is passionate about educating their team and our customers about our products. The District Manager is the ultimate The Joint Cannabis ambassador. Additionally, this position will recruit and select shop leaders who demonstrate The Joint Cannabiss core values. They will mentor, coach, and develop shop leaders by setting clear expectations and demonstrating excellence by their own example. The District Manager supports the Director by communicating company directives to their assigned shops and reinforcing the company vision and mission. The District Manager is responsible for the sales performance of their district, secret shop scores, team member engagement, community partnerships, prospecting and opening new shop locations and visiting their shops on a regular basis. Frequent travel is required. Competencies and Requirements Multiunit retail operations excellence a must. Retail finance knowledge (P&L mastery). Ability to build and manage labour budgets. Ability to manage inventory. Art of communication at the multiunit level. Ability to foster healthy teams in person and virtually through performancebased conversations. Ability to train, coach and mentor leaders and their teams. Travel is required a minimum of 60% per work week. An insured, reliable vehicle is required. Hours of work will vary from day to day and week to week. Evening and weekend work may be required, as is the nature of our business. The company may change your hours of work and work schedule from time to time due to organizational demands. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual sales/unit forecast based on district''''s strategies. Meet or exceed assigned revenue and target metric objectives within the assigned district. Visits a minimum of 4 stores a week and completes at least 1 quarterly visit to each store within the district. Attend and host weekly conference calls which outline company focuses and upcoming operational directives. Review sales results weekly and make recommendations to the Director to correct deficiencies by identifying issues, opportunities, and strategies to coursecorrect. Drive key performance indicators and coach for continued excellence. Ensure that the experience models and customer retention programs are executed consistently to inspire teams to deliver industryleading guest experience. Adhere to all regulatory requirements by following processes and structure to ensure compliance. Partner with Winning Talent & Culture (HR) to hire, develop and retain top talent, as well as address employee relations concerns. Train team members on how to drive sales to fullest potential through continued development on product knowledge, customer service standards and visual presentation. Foster excellent partnerships across all departments. Ensure product is on the right shelves in the right locations for all retail stores across the district. Budget, plan, and host regional events for the team. Actively manage and influence district budgets. Demonstrate visual and marketing excellence through consistent understanding and sharing insight regarding key market drivers; actively uses knowledge to generate business and customer focus, product expansion and market development. Ensure consistent execution of The Joints marketing and visual presentation standards and direction. Proactively identify and communicate various market opportunities for localized products, visuals, and marketing strategies. Utilize key product reports to analyze opportunities and to maintain proper depth in all key items and trends. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Education, Training and Experience 5+ years success in multiunit retail leadership. Postsecondary business program or related experience. Proven experience leading within a unionised environment and labour relations management. Clear criminal record. Provincial Cannabis Certification(s). Working Conditions Some travel may be required. Ability to attend and conduct presentations. Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Overtime as required.
