Job Summary The Business & Legal Affairs Coordinator supports the Business & Legal Affairs function through contract administration, deal coordination, and crossfunctional operational support. Reporting to the Head of Business & Legal Affairs, this role plays a key part in enabling deal flow by managing the administrative and coordination work required to move artist agreements, catalogue licences, and related legal processes forward efficiently and accurately. This role sits within the Operations team and works closely with Business & Legal Affairs, Commercial, Digital Operations, and the A&R team to ensure releases are contracted, configured, and delivered smoothly. It is wellsuited to someone who is highly organised, detailoriented, and interested in building a career in music business affairs, rights, and/or operations. This role will gain progressive exposure to artist deal negotiations, licensing structures, and commercial decisionmaking. This position is a fixedterm contract through December31,2026 , with the possibility of conversion to a fulltime role contingent on business needs. Responsibilities Contract Administration & Deal Coordination Conduct a structured review of catalogue agreements to confirm and document reversion dates, licence periods, and related contract terms, ensuring accuracy and readiness for downstream planning. Prepare artist, label, and catalogue agreements by completing approved proforma templates based on agreed deal terms. Coordinate the sending, tracking, execution and filing of agreements with artists, managers, and legal representatives. Support the Head of Business & Legal Affairs during negotiations by managing redlines, version control, and administrative followups. Review licensing agreements and related documents (e.g. publishing, side artist, producer, writer agreements and letter of direction) to confirm key contract metadata, including licence period, reversion dates, commercial terms, and signatories. Support and coordinate the administration and execution of sample clearances, compilation licences, and cover/interpolation matters. Release & Rights Operations Support Support the endtoend release workflow from executed agreement to operational handoff. Validate rights and contract metadata (e.g. shares, writer/publisher information, licence terms) for product configuration in Label Manager. Support invoicing workflows by reviewing and submitting invoices in Label Manager in accordance with executed agreements. Support Digital Operations with postrelease rights matters by reviewing executed agreements and rights metadata in response to platform claims or takedown notices. Department Administration & Projects Support departmentlevel administration, documentation, and tracking across Business & Legal Affairs. Assist with contract audits and special projects, including catalogue reviews and partnerspecific or internal audits. Executive & Organizational Support Provide administrative support to the Executive team as needed, including meeting scheduling and coordination related to artist deals and M&A activity. Assist with adhoc operational tasks that support deal execution and strategic initiatives. Support the Executive with scheduling inperson events and related logistics when required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience in an administrative, operations, legal assistant, or coordination role. Experience working with contracts, licensing, or rights administration in the music or media industry. Strong written communication skills and confidence interacting with internal and external stakeholders. Comfort working with contracts, structured documents, and metadata. Familiarity with Google Workspace, Asana, Slack, and modern collaboration tools. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Comfortable working in a fully remote environment. Interest in electronic music and the music business. Flexibility and eagerness to learn. Pay Scale $60,000$65,000 CAD per year.
