With a rapidly growing portfolio of innovative prescription medicines, Kye has an immediate opening for a Medical Science Liaison, Western Canada (MSL, West). The successful candidate will join an entrepreneurial team of highly motivated professionals representing a successful Canadian pharmaceutical start-up and a valued portfolio of medicines. The MSL, West is a field-based medical expert responsible for cultivating collaborative relationships with opinion leaders and facilitating scientific exchange of evidence-based data to support successful commercialization of in-market and future Kye Pharmaceuticals products. The MSL, West will also be responsible for gathering insights and medical intelligence through peer-peer interactions with the healthcare community to better inform Kye Pharmaceuticals overall strategic direction. The MSL, West will be an integral part of the Scientific Affairs team, reporting to the Director, Medical Affairs. Responsibilities KOL Engagement - Identify, develop, and maintain scientific peer-peer relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare community and key stakeholders for specific disease areas. Data Dissemination Act as a medical field-based expert by engaging in scientific exchanges with HCPs and responding to unsolicited medical information inquiries in a timely manner. Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare audiences. Sales Support - Provide field-based medical support to sales representatives through effective, seamless collaboration and by acting as key scientific resource for strategic field initiatives, training, internal journal clubs, etc. Scientific Knowledge and Expertise Maintain knowledge and expertise on Kyes disease areas and products (e.g. neuroscience, hematology, and rare diseases) by staying up to date with medical literature. Speaker Briefing - Develop speakers and advocates among Key Opinion Leaders and conduct speaker training/briefings in support of medical education programs. Insights Generation Gather and communicate key medical insights from KOLs/HCPs to inform refinement of medical and corporate strategies. Conference Support - Attend, provide medical support, and engage with HCPs at regional or national conferences. Develop summaries of key data presented. Cross-functional Support - Provide medical input by participating in cross-functional initiatives or internal project teams as directed by Management. Regulatory Compliance - Maintain personal expertise on MSL best practices, KOL engagement strategies, applicable pharmaceutical and regulatory guidelines as well as internal company policies/practices. Data Generation Support review, submission and execution of Investigator Sponsored Research and other data generation activities as required. Qualifications Education/Experience: Advanced scientific degree including Ph.D., PharmD, MD and minimum two (2) years Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably as an MSL. Demonstrated ability to effectively execute new product launches within assigned territory. Proven ability and business acumen to build strong/collaborative peer-to-peer relationships with HCPs and key stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and negotiating skills with demonstrated ability to engage effectively with HCPs. Excellent analytical and presentation skills, including ability to understand complex data sets and then communicate them in a clear and concise manner. A high level of scientific expertise in Kyes areas of interest is preferred (e.g. ADHD, Anemia, Muscular Dystrophy, etc.); including ability to quickly learn and develop expertise in new therapeutic areas. Knowledge of Canadian Healthcare system, pharmaceutical/regulatory principles, and compliance. Ability to work with a high level of independence and autonomy in managing field-based responsibilities. Excellent teamwork skills and demonstrated competencies to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales team. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize workload. Requirements Valid drivers license required. Candidates preferred to reside in Western Canada. Ability to travel frequently (up to 80%) with overnight stays. Availability to attend meetings on holidays and/or weekends if needed. Fluent in English (verbal and written), French an asset. Flexibility and agility to adapt to changing business needs.
