Department: OR/Day Surgery/PACUPosition Location: MeafordUnion Affiliation: ONAStatus: Full-Time, Temporary (Approx. end date January 2027)Wage Rate: $39.07 - $56.00Reporting to the Manager, the Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, Surgical Day Care, and Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit is responsible for providing supportive, preventative, and therapeutic care to patients in the perioperative arenas.Skills/Abilities/QualificationsRequired:Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibilitySuccessful completion of the Operating Room certificate and/or at least 2 years OR experience in the last 3 yearsSuccessful completion of the Post Anaesthetic Course within the last 3 yearsMinimum 2 years PACU nursing experience within the past 5 years2 years recent acute care nursing experiencePhysical Assessment Course or equivalentCoronary Care Certificate I or equivalentPACU CertificateCertification in Pneumatic TourniquetCurrent certifications in:BCLSVenipuncture to start an IVIV meds below the drip chamberACLSPALSDemonstrated computer skills in MS Outlook and Cerner applications (PowerChart and SurgiNet) or equivalentAbility to scrub and circulate in all servicesKnowledge of current ORNAC standardsAbility to adapt to a rapidly changing work environmentAbility to function as a team memberFlexibility and adaptability to flex time to meet unit needsCurrent experience with SurginetBroad surgical experience requiredWillingness to cross-train and be scheduled in Day Surgery, PACU, and Ambulatory CareExcellent assessment skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionalsStrong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skillsCommitment to continuous professional development and educationSelf-directed with minimal supervisionRecent satisfactory performance and attendance recordsAdherence to Brightshores CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies, and commitment to a safe, violence-free workplaceAdvocates for and supports a culture of patient safety, understanding its importance in overall patient care at BrightshoresPreferred:Baccalaureate degree in nursing #J-18808-Ljbffr
