Intermediate Procurement Specialist (Buyer / Expeditor) Job Description The Opportunity: Our Major Projects group within WSPs ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. This group provides project management, project controls, construction management and supply chain services to our major projects in the mining, energy, industrial and power markets across the country. The team ensures consistent project delivery for all clients regardless of project location or market. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an experienced Intermediate Procurement Specialist (Buyer/Expeditor) to be part of our team. This position can be located out of our Calgary, AB OR Montreal, QC offices. Join our dynamic procurement team and play a key role in delivering complex, high-value projects. In this position, youll manage end-to-end purchasing activitiesfrom bid preparation and negotiations to expediting and PO closeoutwhile collaborating with project managers, engineers, and vendors to keep schedules on track and ensure seamless execution. What you can expect to do here: Apply your expertise in procurement workflows to deliver client-specific solutions. Own the bidding process: Prepare and issue RFQs, develop bid lists, support evaluations, and lead negotiations. Drive purchasing execution: Collaborate and coordinate: Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Team Leads, and client procurement reps to keep projects on track. Resolve challenges fast: Correct delivery slippages, mitigate delays, and communicate schedule impacts proactively. Manage complex packages: Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation & Controlswith design components. Monitor progress: Track fabrication, expedite documents, and initiate corrective actions when needed. Report and communicate: Deliver accurate reports and maintain organized documentation. Lead and support: May handle complex packages with senior guidance and mentor junior team members. What youll bring to WSP: Degree, diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or other applicable area. 1 5 years previous experience in an EPCM environment on Energy, Mining, Industrial and Infrastructure projects. Highly proficient in MS Office including training with SCM software(s) will be an asset. Fluency of working in ERP and Supply Chain systems.
