Nurse Practitioner - Hematology, Blood and Marrow Transplant Are you a motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) that wants to use your expertise toward the treatment of Albertans fighting Cancer? AHS is seeking an NP to join the dynamic Hematology and BMT team at the stateoftheart Arthur Child Cancer Centre. The incumbent will be an integral member of our healthcare team working within a multidisciplinary and fastpaced environment with a passion for patient and family centred cancer care. The principle focus of this position will be clinical practice as you contribute to a cohesive, consistent collaboration with the oncologist and nursing teams. In addition, you will provide nursing education, leadership, and be a critical contributor to ongoing quality improvement. You will demonstrate proven skills in organisation, critical thinking, conflict resolution, advanced problem solving, interdisciplinary leadership and change management. Importantly, the successful NP will bring a core passion for caring for patients and their families. The role offers a progressive, teamoriented environment working with experts in oncology and includes predominantly day schedules with flexibility to negotiate an FTE that balances operational demands and employee preferences. Description: As a Nurse Practitioner (NP) you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will integrate clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet patients health needs. You will also utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimising Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Health Care Provider (BCLSHCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Experience working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, including hematologists and other specialised roles. Ability to promote change processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated experience with excellent patient and family centred care. Preferred Qualifications: NP experience in Hematology or Oncology. Canadian Nurses Association certification credentials in Oncology nursing. Experience in advanced practice role and related certifications, such as CON(C).
