Description The Department of Medical Imaging at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto are recruiting two (2) fulltime radiologists in the Emergency & Trauma Radiology Division. The anticipated start date is July12026 or sooner if possible. Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC) is a fully affiliated hospital of the University of Toronto with over 1,300 beds; of which almost 700 are dedicated to acute care (including 128 intensive care). SHSC includes Canadas first and largest trauma program and has a dynamic and busy Emergency Department (ED). The Emergency and Trauma Radiology Division (ETRD) is an integral part of the patient services at Sunnybrook, both for the ED population and emergencies of patients admitted to internationally acclaimed specialty programmes, including the Tory Trauma Program, Odette Cancer Program, the Schulich Heart Program and the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program. Sunnybrook also has one of the largest critical care facilities in North America. Therefore, emergency radiologists encounter a broad spectrum of acute conditions: acute (polytrauma), neurologic emergencies such as stroke, cardiovascular emergencies, thoracic as well as abdominal emergencies and acute complications in oncology patients. The Department of Medical Imaging at SHSC is equipped with stateoftheart imaging technology, including 1.5T and 3T MRI machines and four CT machines, all with DECT capability. All acute care imaging is interpreted 24/7 from a sixstation reading room embedded in the ED, next to the CT and the trauma bay. The SHSC radiology practice is composed of 4550 subspecialty radiologists. The successful candidates will be team members in the Emergency & Trauma Radiology Division, which was founded in 2016. They will provide interpretation of acute care imaging, including overnight oncall coverage and will be expected to play a contributing role in all areas of subspecialty emergency and trauma imaging. The ETRD team members also report a mix of acute care and outpatient imaging studies from other divisions during the daytime. The successful candidates will be an integral part of the teaching faculty of our Undergraduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education, Residency, and Fellowship Programs as ClinicianTeacher. Job Requirements The qualified applicant should be eligible for an academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, hold a Fellowship in Diagnostic Imaging from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or an international equivalent, and be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The applicant should have sufficient experience to perform subspecialty work in Emergency and Trauma Imaging. A year of dedicated fellowship training in Emergency and Trauma Radiology postresidency graduation is essential. Compensation Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidates qualifications and experience. Compensation is based on a feeforservice model. The estimated income range will be $300,000$500,000 per annum for a fulltime equivalent with the opportunity for increased salary commensurate with experience and academic credentials.
