Key Responsibilities Lead the Electrical project team with the ability to work independently and without supervision on projects from start to completion. Supervise preparation of Electrical construction drawings and specifications. Prepare projects in collaboration with our Mechanical design team. Prepare the concept design, complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and produce system concept reports. Develop single line diagrams with normal, low voltage, and emergency power distribution. Design Electrical systems including but not limited to: Low voltage electrical distribution. Lighting and lighting control systems. Life safety and emergency systems. Telecommunication systems. A/V systems. Security access and monitoring systems. Equipment and structured cabling. Develop ETAP model for load flow analysis, short circuit coordination, and arc flash studies. Utilize applicable utility standards, specifications, and requirements to prepare detailed electrical designs and cost estimate packages. Provide contract administrative services during construction including supplementary document and drawing development, verbal/written design support, and field inspections. Conduct site visit surveys of buildings for the purpose of collecting design information or to review and report on the existing building conditions. Participate in project review meetings with internal design team and with clients to discuss issues, notate meeting minutes, and develop action item lists as part of project record keeping. Communicate effectively with the design team, clients, design professionals, contractors and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure drawing integrity and completeness. Ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients. Serve as the project representative for clients, providing a single point of contact. Understand and apply all relevant building codes throughout Western Canada. Provide mentorship to EITs and technologists. Qualifications and Experience Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.), registered with APEGA, PEO, EGBC, or other Canadian jurisdiction. 10+ years of Canadian experience in electrical design for commercial, multi-family residential, institutional, industrial, and healthcare buildings. Experience with site investigations, construction review, and client interaction. Familiarity with bid tendering processes, project budgeting, and costing. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is considered beneficial.
