The hourly pay range for this position is $20.50$26. Individual pay within this range is determined by several compensable factors, including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior coop work terms completed.This position is entitled to $2.50 shift premium per hour.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust and operate the CNC machine according to work orders and specificationsResponsible for setting up with minor programUse manual pump trucks, cranes (overhead / jib) and lift devices as required to move material and finished product(s)Monitor machine operation and perform troubleshooting tactics when necessaryEnsure parts are manufactured in accordance with quality standards, target plans, and verify correct run quantitiesVisually inspect parts after each machine cycle and perform inspections as requiredOptimize the running of parts to best take advantage of the machines operating timeFill out production boards with output for the shift, as well as assisting in planning the afternoon shift productionMaintain the cleanliness of the work area and follow organizational practicesStrives for continuous improvement in all aspects of the work environmentTroubleshoot and resolve issues as requiredOther duties as assignedPerform all his duties following Health and Safety procedures, including but not limited to wearing PPE, following sanitization routines, etc.What Youll Need To SucceedHigh school diplomaIn a registered coop program and eligible for the Summer 2026 work termCurrently pursuing a postsecondary education as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or related fieldPrevious experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an assetPrevious experience as a CNC Machine Operator is considered an assetAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to use calliper, micrometre, go nogo gauges, etc.Excellent mechanical/mathematical aptitude and manual dexterityGood communication skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environmentAttention to detailAbility to work in a fastpaced work environment with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to lift up to 30lbs.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles is considered an assetPhysical EffortNormal or frequent minor physical effort required for the daytoday activity in the workplace.
