Job Description

The CanLearn Society is a not-for-profit agency that has been a recognized leader in the identification and treatment of learning difficulties experienced by children and adults for over 40 years. The dedicated professional staff provides valuable services that include family literacy programs, in-school programs, the assessment and treatment of learning difficulties (particularly learning disabilities and attention disorders), public and professional education and the provision of library and research services to the community. CanLearn is currently seeking a Registered Psychologist (Independent Contractor) to provide assessment services, with a primary focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for children and adults. This is a contract clinical role involving the direct provision of psychological assessment services to CanLearn clients. The successful contractor will be expected to commit to conducting approximately 3 to 4 ASD assessments per month. Capacity to assess additional referral concerns (e.g., social-emotional functioning, learning disabilities, ADHD, and cognitive functioning) is considered an asset. CanLearn offers a flexible work environment. Weekend and weekday options are available. The Registered Psychologist reports to the Director of Clinical Services. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, primarily for Autism Spectrum Disorder, with children, adolescents, and/or adults Integrate standardized assessment tools, clinical interviews, and collateral information Prepare clear, high-quality psychological assessment reports Provide feedback to clients and/or caregivers Collaborate with CanLearns clinical team as appropriate Required Qualifications: Masters or Doctoral degree in psychology Registration in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) Formal training/supervision and experience conducting psychological assessments Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Excellent oral and written communications skills Please submit a resume and cover letter outlining your interest and relevant experience to with Registered Psychologist in the subject line.
