About the role Reporting to theSupervisor,Safety,the Officer, Loss Preventionis responsible formatters related to health, safety, and site security. The work schedule will be a 4x4 rotation of 4 days on, 4offand4 nightshifts. To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonalskills whocan effectively speak in front of large groups. Benefits Two Annual Bonus Plans Comprehensive Benefits Plan Retirement Package Health Lifestyle Account In this role you will Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies Support the high potential risk control strategy through participation in risk assessments, gap analyses, and effectiveness reviews Assistin contractor risk management through review of safe work plans Perform industrial hygiene monitoring, control access, and egress to site Facilitate training for health and safety initiatives and New Hire Orientation Participate in awareness initiatives and health and safety program education Perform periodic health and safety inspections andparticipatein audits asrequired Assistin the development and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety programs Provide overall site protection, including fire systems Support implementation of High Potential Risk Control and Occupational Health and Hygiene strategies Promote Health and Safety leadership among employees and contractors, providing mentorship and direction on the application of site procedures and programs Provide first aid services,drugand alcohol sample collection, and completeaccuratefirst aid reports Provide support to safety incident investigations and health and safety programs, including confined space, hazardous energy isolation, and fall protection Requirements High School Diploma WorkSafeBC Advanced First Aid, or equivalent WorkSafeBC recognized certification isrequired Strong computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite Valid Class 5DriversLicense or equivalent Two years of relevant industry experience in a Health and Safety role or a Mine Rescue ticket is an asset $75,000 - $92,000 a year The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidates relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
