THE ROLE The Digital Communications Specialist creates compelling content across digital and print platforms, through social media, the website, and email campaigns. This role manages content development, digital campaigns, multimedia production, and analytics, and contributes to special events, tours, and community engagement initiatives. The Digital Communications Specialist plays a key part in promoting performances, programs, and initiatives, while supporting brand consistency and audience growth. KEY DUTIES Plan and facilitate monthly social media and email campaign meetings Monitor, analyze, and report on social media and campaign performance to inform strategy and improve results. Create, source, schedule, and maintain social media content in alignment with brand strategy. Serve as the primary contact for RWB social media channels, including content planning, writing, scheduling, publishing, and moderation. Organize and contribute to annual campaign planning meetings. Write and manage digital and traditional advertising content across multiple platforms. Work closely with Marketing team to coordinate multimedia advertising placements and ad development. Assist with the coordination of photo and video shoots from concept to completion, including permissions, estimates, contracts, and schedules. Work closely with the Marketing Team to oversee the photo and video approval process and maintain the RWB photo directory. Assist with photography, video production, and media or promotional requests as needed. Collaborate with the Creative Strategist to create engaging social media graphics, headers, and promotional videos. Assist with website content maintenance, including images, biographies, synopses, program notes, and event information. Maintain and coordinate digital listings and content on external websites. COMMUNICATIONS, EVENTS, TEAM SUPPORT Support marketing needs related to fundraising, communications, special events, and public relations. Work closely with the Marketing team to plan and coordinate influencer events and assist with media calls, publicity activities, and events for performances and touring engagements. Act as a liaison with touring venues on digital content and community engagement initiatives. Participate in Front of House staffing for performances and events as required. WORK SETTING This role works primarily in an office environment using standard office and digital production equipment. Occasional hours during evenings and weekends to support performances, events, and meetings. The position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. WHAT YOU BRING Post-secondary education in Creative Communications, Video Production, Multimedia or Graphic Design, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum 1 year of experience in communications, digital media, and/or video production. Minimum 1 year of related experience in an arts, cultural, or agency environment. Familiarity with major social media platforms and best practices for business use. Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and high-quality outputs.
