Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Concrete & Civil Quality Inspector - Squamish FI/FO Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, CA; Squamish, British Columbia, CA Requisition ID: 179450 Job Level: Mid Level Department: Quality Market: Building Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview Kiewit is hiring a Quality Inspector to support the Cheekeye Debris Barrier program, providing inspection coverage during concrete structure repair and installation of a channel liner consisting of grouted stone pitching. This role works closely with the Project Quality Team to ensure all work meets project specifications, design requirements, and applicable standards. This is a fieldbased position, ideal for experienced quality professionals with strong concrete and earthworks inspection backgrounds. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. Our current opportunities are spread across the entire West Coast of Canada including local and rotation projects within British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon, and the United States. Frequent and rotational travel is required. Location This position will start on the Cheekeye Debris Barrier project located in Squamish, BC. Rotational travel is required, and LOA is provided. Future assignments may be located across BC or other provinces. Responsibilities Perform continuous QA/QC inspections during concrete repair and earthworks activities. Inspect concrete and grout batching operations, including preengineered products, proprietary mixes, and HighPerformance Concrete. Conduct and document rebar inspections prior to concrete placement. Inspect rehabilitation of concrete structures in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Inspect installation of slope protection systems, including: Grouted stone pitching Rip rap Armour rock Channel liner systems Verify material quality, placement methods, and workmanship for earthworks and concrete works. Coordinate daily with construction crews, Quality Manager, and EOR to ensure alignment on inspection hold points and acceptance criteria. Complete accurate inspection reports, test records, and nonconformance documentation as required. Support day and night shift operations as part of a rotating QC inspection schedule. Qualifications 5+ years of Construction QA/QC or Field Engineering experience. Demonstrated experience in both concrete works and earthworks inspection. CSA or ACI accreditation in concrete field testing (required). Proven experience with: Concrete and grout batching operations Preengineered and proprietary concrete products HighPerformance Concrete Rebar inspection Concrete repair and rehabilitation work Slope protection and erosion control systems Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision. Strong understanding of construction specifications, drawings, and inspection procedures. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. Base Compensation: $95,000/yr - $100,000/yr Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location. Some projects may provide additional compensation in the form of project allowances or uplifts.
