Currently, we are recruiting for a senior position in our Climate Resilience practice. What is the opportunity? The successful candidate will be a client-focused professional with 10+ years of experience in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments, compliance management and due diligence, with experience in climate change advisory offerings. The focus of the role will be to deliver climate change adaptation and resiliency solutions for our clients, to create, maintain, and grow client relationships, and to help continue to build our practice. You will work within our Advisory business unit, a global team of 800+ staff delivering strategy offerings to our clients in the fields of energy, corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, digital solutions and mining. As part of this team, you will be connected to and routinely engaged with peers across all of SLRs regions, receiving and providing thought leadership in the rapidly evolving field of climate science and engineering. In This Growth And Delivery Focused Role, You Will Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Technical Director, Climate Resilience and with key staff in other regions, to provide mentoring, find and develop project opportunities, and execute work for clients; Collaborate with our Sector Leaders and client relationship managers to develop and implement our internal go to market plans to expand SLRs climate change advisory capabilities and offerings throughout the Americas (Canada, the US and LATAM); Provide strategic guidance to clients on requirements relating to climate change, resiliency, and the implementation of adaptation strategies; Understand and communicate technical information on potential climate change impacts and associated vulnerabilities to clients and decision makers on projects; Advise our public and private sector clients on the strategic integration of climate change into planning, project development, and management decisions; Support our public and private sector clients with natural hazard and disaster risk preparedness and resiliency planning; and Promote and maintain a positive work environment with your Advisory colleagues through a strong culture of teamwork and cooperation. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000. Final agreed-upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location. Preferred Qualifications Bachelors and/or Masters degree specializing in a related technical discipline (e.g., planning; engineering; geosciences; climatology, sciences, social sciences); Professional designations or eligibility (e.g., RPP, P.Geo, P.Eng, PMP); 10+ years of professional consulting experience, ideally in a global consultancy; Ideally 5+ years experience in climate change, resiliency, and climate change mitigation advisory services; Exposure to and experience with international standards and guidelines for climate change risk and vulnerability assessment (e.g., World Bank / IFC Performance Standards); Excellent client delivery and project management skills; An understanding of key regional and international climate change, environment, and social impact assessment standards, policy and associated guidance; Clear strategic thinker and strong collaborator with excellent written and oral communication skills; A strong and positive vision for how to engage business in building a sustainable and inclusive future, given the enormity and urgency of the challenges we face as a society; and Ability to travel within the Americas (Canada, US and LATAM) periodically, as required.
