Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION As part of our Borderline Personality Self Regulation Clinic, you will be involved in all aspects of an adherent Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) outpatient program. As a key member of the team, you will provide clinical assessment and treatment, consultative and educational services to clients, families, community providers, referral sources and other community partners. You will have demonstrated initiative and creative approaches to challenging situations and will be willing to work collaboratively as the program continues to work towards specialized evidence-based services in a learning environment. You will have formal training and experience in DBT service delivery working with individuals who have Borderline Personality Disorder. You will work actively with our referral sources and community partners and will provide individual and group counseling, liaison with the community, consultation and education services. Requirements: Masters of Social Work. Registered with College of Social Workers in good standing Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory standards Knowledge and experience working with borderline personality disorder in an outpatient population Certification and practice in DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) Knowledge and experience working with clients with a Bordeline Personality Disorder 3-5 years of recent psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service is desired Community mental health service provision experience is required Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups Understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required Experience with presentations is an asset The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated competence in performance, clinical assessment, intervention and documentation The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills Current CPR-HCP is required. The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position Link to OPSEU Wage Table-This is part of OPSEU bargaining unit.
