Remedy''sRx Northview is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Pharmacy Assistant to join our team This position will have a primary focus on operating and maintaining our SynMed automated dispensing machine. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, technically comfortable, and committed to accuracy and patient safety in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. SynMed & Automation Support Operate the SynMed dispensing machine to support prescription filling and packaging Load, replenish, and rotate medications within the SynMed system in accordance with pharmacy procedures Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and basic troubleshooting of the SynMed machine Identify, document, and report dispensing errors or machine issues promptly to the pharmacist / Manager Assist with SynMed reports, audits, and inventory reconciliation as required Pharmacy Operations Assist pharmacists and regulated pharmacy technicians with prescription workflow (under appropriate supervision) Prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification, including labeling and packaging Maintain accurate records in accordance with NAPRA standards, pharmacy policies, and applicable legislation Support inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and expiry date monitoring Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Compliance & Safety Follow all pharmacy policies, standard operating procedures, and privacy requirements (PHIPA) Adhere to quality assurance, health and safety, and control standards Participate in training related to automation, workflow efficiency, and error prevention Qualifications & Requirements Pharmacy Assistant diploma or equivalent experience preferred Previous experience working with SynMed or automated dispensing systems is a strong asset Experience working in a community or long-term care pharmacy environment preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Comfortable working with technology and computerized pharmacy systems Ability to follow written procedures and work independently as well as part of a team Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and handle medication totes and boxes (up to approximately 25 lbs) Manual dexterity required for machine loading and medication handling What We Offer Competitive compensation Training on SynMed and pharmacy automation systems Supportive team environment Opportunities for skill development and growth within the pharmacy This role is an existing vacancy and is open to qualified applicants.
