Regional Home Support Worker (HSW Contract) $24.64 per hour ($ % in lieu of vacation and benefits) 24 to 34 hours per week, Monday - Friday Contract pending Vacancy due to Maternity Leave (February 23, 2026 to approximately August 28, 2026) Opportunity to transition to Casual HSW Position after 6 months Contract At Community Support Connections, we wake up each morning energized about the difference we make in the lives of our clients; people who could be your parents, grandparents, friends, or neighbours. If what we do resonates with your core values, then we want to hear from you The Role: The Regional Home Support Worker contributes to the mission of Community Support Connections by visiting clients in their own homes and assisting them with activities of daily living. Who You Are: You have excellent time management, organization, communication and active listening skills. You work independently but seek advice when required. You respect privacy and confidentiality and handle personal health information responsibly. You are dependable, responsive and trustworthy. You are compassionate and caring and can respectfully set and maintain clear boundaries. You are observant and comfortable immediately reporting client concerns and safety hazards. RESPONSIBILITIES Service Delivery Home Support Contacts clients to confirm service before travelling Receives clear communication from client on expectations and agreed upon tasks before beginning work Thoroughly cleans specific areas as agreed upon with the client, including: Vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping Washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen, wiping out fridges and microwaves Cleaning and restocking the bathroom Taking out trash/recycling Wiping down/sanitizing surfaces, doors, handrails, window frames, light switches, door handles Laundry and changing bed linens Light meal preparation (i.e. making sandwiches or reheating cold or frozen food) Light grocery shopping and putting away purchased items Other homemaking duties as required Administration Communicates with office regarding client cancellations and concerns Keeps appointment times and informs all when running late Collects client signatures in agreement to time spent at each visit Collects periodic satisfaction/progress reports Submits timesheets each week Notices and reports changes in client behaviours or circumstances Ensures all client information is communicated and kept up-to-date Maintains accurate schedule of clients QUALIFICATIONS Availability to work a minimum of 24 hours a week 1-year related professional experience preferred, oran equivalent combination of education and experience Valid Driver''s License and daily access to a safe, licensed and reliable vehicle for travel to and from client homes Current Emergency First Aid/CPR A Certificate (or be willing to acquire by time of employment) Successful Vulnerable Sector Police Check and 3 personal references WORKING HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT Must be availablefive days/week Able to work flexible hours Able to travel to individual client homes in Waterloo Region Able to work with clients who smoke and have pets preferred Community Support Connections is an award-winning non-profit organization committed to diversity, equity and inclusion.
