The Opportunity The Director of Care of the Long-Term Care Home is responsible to the Executive Director and the Regional Director, Care Services for management of the Resident Care Services within the site. The Director of Care ensures the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the overall operation of the Nursing /Care Department in accordance with current applicable federal, provincial and regional standards, guidelines and regulations. Works within their practice statement, competencies and conduct as defined by the Health Professions Act or other relevant legislation and governing professional organizations to ensure that the highest standard of resident care is delivered and maintained at all times. What You Will Do Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decision-making authority and/or brings to the attention of the Administrator. Investigates and completes required follow-up for any concerns and complaints brought forward. Coordination of the Care Conference Program. Accountable for the highest standard of resident care and quality of life being provided to the residents through the development and maintenance of appropriate care plans, effective supervision of the performance of nursing staff, provision of the required equipment and supplies and appropriate staffing pattern, nursing services, policies, and procedures. What You Bring Bachelor of Nursing Degree and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Minimum 3 years in a leadership position and seniors care preferred. Minimum of 5 years'' experience working in seniors'' care.
