Position Details Employment Type: Full-time, Contract Reports to: Director, Youth CivicCorps Direct Reports: None Salary: $70,000 80,000 Work Environment: CivicAction''s work is a hybrid workplace that combines both in-office and remote work. CivicAction''s physical offices are in downtown Toronto and technology will be provided to support both in-office and remote work. This position may involve some evening and weekend work. Anticipated Start Date: Immediately Contract end date: March 31, 2027 Position Purpose The Program Lead plays a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a new CivicAction program, which will connect young people to meaningful volunteer placements within organizations addressing critical urban issues, such as housing, affordability, and equitable prosperity. Reporting to the Director, Youth CivicCorps, the Program Lead will conduct program activities relating to the recruitment, training, placement, and retention of program participants (volunteers), and their corresponding placement host organizations. Core activities will include providing 1:1 support to volunteers, including individualized coaching and check-ins, onsite visits to partner placements, extensive support throughout volunteer recruitment and selection, as well as co-creation of volunteer placements, and retention of volunteers. The Program Lead will also assist with program logistics and coordination to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for both volunteers and placement hosts. Key Accountabilities: Volunteer Coordination: Lead recruitment and onboarding of program participants (youth , including hosting information session, screening applications, conducting interviews, and selecting successful applicants; lead onboarding of participants, including hosting a welcome orientation and creating a volunteer handbook; coordinate volunteer co-creation activities with placement partners to ensure well curated matches to placement opportunities aligned with their skills and interests; provide program support throughout 120-hour placements to all volunteers, including connecting participants with external resources to better support their well-being and successful placement completion. Partner Development & Relationship Management: Build and maintain meaningful relationships with placement partners to support the successful placement of volunteers; conduct site visits with placement partners. Mentorship & Coaching: Build positive, trusted relationships with volunteers and placement hosts; act as a primary point of contact for volunteers and placement hosts; conduct scheduled check-ins with volunteers and placement hosts, provide support and help removing any barriers to completing volunteer placements; host group sessions with volunteers focused on leadership development, mentorship and providing coaching and support with conflict resolution. Program Delivery: Provide administrative and logistical support in the planning and delivery of key program activities including seminars, symposiums, and training opportunities; (some evening and weekend attendance required), with the goal of ensuring a positive and meaningful experience for volunteers and placement partners; provide general coordination and scheduling support. Qualifications and Skills Required Education, Certification and Experience: A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the areas of project coordination, mentorship and coaching, program delivery, event planning and/or program administration. Relevant college/university degree an asset. Minimum of 2 years of experience working with diverse youth populations, including those facing socio-economic, educational, and mental health barriers, providing tailored support to promote personal growth, academic success, and social development. Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of high-impact programs and events. Demonstrated experience managing relationships with program participants. Demonstrated experience successfully managing key stakeholder relationships, including external partners and contributors, internal stakeholders, and/or program participants.
