SUMMARYThe Pacific Mist Spa at the Kingfisher Pacific Resort & Spa is a leader in the Spa Industry and proud member of ISPA & Leading Spas of Canada. Our breathtaking Spa is 10,000 square feet and is rated #1 in the Canadian Spa & Wellness Awards, Best Island Spa 2021 in the Times Colonist Victoria, Best Luxury Spa 2018 by BC Hair & Beauty Awards and Greatest Place to Work Winner 2021 in the Comox Valley Record Readers Choice Awards.The Spa Director is responsible to oversee the Pacific Mist Spas employees, services and finances. This individual must be skilled at bringing out the best in others, creating structure and organization without compromising on the details. The Spa Director owns all aspects of running the spa which includes business strategy, marketing, facility operations, revenue management, staff training and guest experience. This role collaborates with the Kingfisher Leadership Team.CORE COMPETENCESThe Spa Director manages, supervises, and oversees all spa operations. It is their responsibility to ensure the achievement of sales goals, business objectives, and profitability. The Spa Director will monitor payroll and expenditures to successfully achieve the spa profit plan. They will review financial data, prepare management reports, and perform administrative functions accurately and timely.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The General Manager may assign other duties.Responsibilities include:Spa Business Development & FinancialsParticipate in developing and implementing the strategic direction of the business, including strategic planning, budgeting, and sales & marketing initiativesContribute expertise to budget creation and ongoing financial review and analysisGuide business decisions by maintaining an awareness of spa industry trendsDevelop and grow retail sales through training, sales tools and financial analysisControl ongoing service and product margin analysis to ensure profitabilityDevelop procedures for accurate inventory control and monitoringDevelop Spas Marketing Strategy and ensure a consistent image is being portrayedMaintain a strong menu of services with both exceptional artistic and aesthetic valueTeam Management and SupportDaily interaction with the entire Spa Team ensuring positive morale and work environmentWeekly/ monthly meetings with Assistant Spa Manager to set Spa goalsHold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spas operationSchedule adjustments in the event of illness, staff shortages when requiredProgressive coaching of employees when requiredPerformance of team member three-month performance reviewComplete six month and one-year evaluations, staffs exit paperwork as requiredAssist with interview/hireLead ManagementDaily observation of operational areas in department, to ensure reputable standards are achieved and acceleratedWeekly/ monthly meetings with Assistant Spa Manager, Supervisors and Leads to set Spa goalsOperationsTimesheet check, Push entry in absence of Assistant Spa Manager. Completion of payroll if requiredMorning completion of Management Checklist and break assignment when MODGuest ServicesSet an example of quality guest interaction at all timesFollow up with guest commentsSupport to the team during guest issuesNotify Assistant Spa Manager of all service incidents for understanding and further follow-upAssisting in all other tasks and responsibilities as designated by the General ManagerAttend industry events, seminars, and continued education to maintain knowledge and aptitude of current and future industry trendsMaintain an average of 40 hours per week, flexible to complete tasks and provide team/business supportCompensation and Working Environment:Range $76,500.00 to $77,500.00 annual salary including bonus1 complimentary spa service per month$50.00 cell phone allowanceDiscounts on spa retail and treatmentsDiscounts on Hotel & Restaurant3 weeks paid vacationFull health and dental benefitsRelocation assistance & onsite transitional accommodation (when available)Working at an award-winning propertySupportive & fun team environmentTeam events & partiesThis Job Description is eligible for change and review at any time.
