This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable payroll legislation and internal policies across our workforce.This position is well suited for someone looking to build a career in payroll and finance within a fast-paced, project-based environment. Success in this role is demonstrated through absolute accuracy, strong time management, discretion when handling sensitive information, and consistent adherence to established payroll processes.A background in payroll, finance, accounting, or a related field is highly desirable. If you are a proactive problem solver with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to process integrity, we welcome your application.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupport payroll processing requirementsReview and verify payroll inputs, timesheets, and employee data for accuracy and completenessAssist with payroll calculations, including regular wages, overtime, allowances, bonuses, deductions, and taxable benefitsMaintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready payroll recordsSupport the preparation and submission of ROEs, T4s, and other statutory filingsAssist with payroll accounting activities such as reconciliations, journal entries, and payroll accrualsAct as a first point of contact for basic payroll inquiries and escalate issues as requiredSupport benefits and retirement plan administrationOther duties as assignedYOUR QUALIFICATIONSA diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or Business is preferredPrevious experience in payroll administration, finance, or a related role is considered an assetStrong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlinesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretionProficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsComfortable learning and working within payroll, accounting, and HRIS systemsStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsExperience in a project-based or multi-jurisdictional environment is considered an assetWillingness to work toward a Payroll Compliance Professional designation is considered an assetCompensationIn compliance with Ontarios Pay Transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000 CAD per year, based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
