Senior Agronomist Role Make an impact with our Agronomy team as a Senior Agronomist. This diverse team of professionals specializes in multiple service offerings including fullservice field scouting, variable fertility & seed mapping, crop intelligence moisture probes and more. Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities Conduct field scouting visits regarding plant stand/establishment, herbicide timing/efficacy, insect and disease management checks. Be knowledgeable of current agronomic practices and government agricultural programs. Actively maintain up to date knowledge of current industry best practices and trends and communicate relevant information to growers and clients. Perform soil tests and plant tissue tests as needed, including analysis to perform recommendations. Conduct analysis through the winter months regarding fertility & seed recommendations, soil moisture data, yield data, etc. Investigate and evaluate potential opportunities to provide further value to our customers. Willingness to work in an outdoor setting, along with overtime as needed during peak season. Ability to work out of a home office when not performing infield functions. Provide coaching and mentorship to Agronomists and Agronomy Interns as required. Demonstrate exceptional relationship building ability with clients, dealers and the consulting team. Believe in the purpose of agriculture and have a passion for our industry. Strong communication skills with clients, team, and industry stakeholders. Innovative thinker that solves problems with insight and intuition. Ability to work independently but also collaborate and team synergy. Skills and Experience A postsecondary degree or diploma in Agriculture or related field. A minimum 5 years of agronomy field experience. Valid Class 5 Drivers License. Thorough knowledge of agricultural software programs and applications. Applicants must be registered or become registered with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists as defined by The Agrologists Act.
