Work Term: Permanent Work Language: English Hours: 38 to 40 hours per week Education: Other trades certificate or diploma Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years Tasks Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems Instruct apprentices Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Plumber Trade Certification Occupational Health and Safety Certificate First Aid Certificate Driver''s License (Class 3 or D) Plumber Red Seal Certificate Gas Fitter Red Seal Certificate Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Security and safety Basic security clearance Criminal record check Transportation/travel information Own transportation Vehicle supplied by employer Valid driver''s licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Physically demanding Bending, crouching, kneeling Hand-eye co-ordination Handling heavy loads Own tools/equipment Tools Steel-toed safety boots Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Excellent written communication Judgement Team player Screening questions Are you authorized to work in Canada?
