Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work in the First Nations Community of Maskwacs, Alberta and North Campus, Edmonton. The position leads the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of culturally grounded caregiver curriculum and training materials. The incumbent develops lesson plans, educational modules, and digital/print resources that support caregivers, community partners, and service providers. They facilitate training sessions, workshops, and presentations on caregiving best practices, child development, and culturally informed approaches to care. This position supports the Principal Investigator''s research program through the Indigenous Caregiving Collective, a community-engaged initiative focused on Indigenous caregiving across Canada. The role contributes to ICC-funded research activities by leading the development, delivery, and evaluation of caregiver curriculum and training in partnership with communities in Maskwacs. A central responsibility is integrating Indigenous ways of knowing, holistic care frameworks, and trauma-informed practices into caregiver education. The position also designs assessment tools to measure caregiver learning, evaluates program effectiveness, and applies findings to refine educational materials. The role requires strong interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills to build relationships, support community-led curriculum development, and ensure training reflects community needs, values, and priorities. Design and develop culturally grounded caregiver curriculum, educational materials, training modules, and digital resources incorporating Indigenous knowledge systems, holistic care models, and trauma-informed practices. Adapt and deliver caregiver training sessions, workshops, and presentations using strengths-based, experiential teaching methods to support skill development and meaningful learning. Facilitate safe, respectful learning environments and discussions on child development, caregiving strategies, and culturally informed approaches for diverse audiences. Integrate cultural competency throughout all materials by collaborating with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community leaders, and upholding cultural protocols and community-led approaches. Develop and implement assessment and evaluation tools, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and prepare recommendations to inform continuous curriculum improvement. Coordinate collaboration and stakeholder engagement by managing co-design sessions, advisory circles, feedback processes, and project logistics while maintaining strong community partnerships. Minimum: Post-secondary education Strong qualitative research experience (e.g., interviews, focus groups). Training in nursing, science, health science, public health, social sciences, or related field 23 years of academic or applied research experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and reference management software. Understanding of research standards, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies (e.g., survey development, evidence synthesis). Dependable WIFI and transportation Able to work in Maskwacs Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage unexpected changes as they arise. Precise documentation skills, detail oriented.
