Scope: Early Childhood and Infant/Toddler Educators work closely with all other members of the program team to provide nurturing care and education to young children 0-5 years of age in a group setting in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of CMCS. Key Responsibilities: Program Planning and Development Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour management techniques Understand and follow all center''s policies, protocols, and management''s directions (See SOP and Childcare Operations Manual) Ensure the program always operates in compliance with all childcare licensing standards Creates planned activities for Preschool programing and Group Childcare classroom. Responsible for arranging the classroom and play areas in accordance with Licensing Standards. Know, understand, and follow the Early Learning Framework. Mentorship/Supervision Collaborates with Early Childhood Apprentice to ensure that classroom programing, hygiene, and cleanliness of classroom and equipment are regularly maintained. Participates in ongoing professional development and attends/maintains all mandatory training Participate in mentorship program Responsible for the constant supervision, safety, and well-being of the children Communication Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with co-workers, and building a positive working relationship Attends and participates actively in all program/centre, parental or other meetings as required Classroom Maintenance Shares responsibility for maintaining program equipment in good repair; assists with toy/equipment disinfecting Shares responsibility for maintaining the play environments and storage areas in an organized and clutter-free condition Education/ Experience: High School diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years experience working in a Licensed Childcare Centre or equivalent Certification and/or License Requirement: A valid Early Childhood Education Certificate A valid First Aid Certificate A Criminal Record Check clearance letter (CMCS will run this check) Immunization Schedule or waiver Ability to provide a minimum of 2 current, satisfactory references Must be a Canadian resident or legally entitled to work in Canada Skills: Interpersonal skills Management skills Effective guiding and caring skills Strong work ethic Punctual Flexibility, be open minded, willing to work with initiative, and work well with others Self motivated Excellent communication skills with fellow employees, parents, and children Creative and imaginative Working Conditions: Will be required to work in fast paced environment Will be required to work between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM (hours dependent upon need) May be asked to work overtime May be asked to take varying lunch breaks depending on all staff schedules Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $29.00-$30.00 per hour Benefits: Dental care Disability insurance Extended health care Flexible schedule Life insurance On-site childcare On-site parking Vision care Wellness program Work Location: In person
