Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 2 years of education or relevant experience in payroll and benefitsadministration; 1-2 years of practical experience in Human Resources is considered an asset; Detail and process oriented with a high degree of accuracy; Knowledge of Payroll legislation; Experience working with Payworks an asset; Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel in an advanced capacity, including formulas,filtering, sorting, pivot tables and VLOOKUP; Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information; Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver on commitments; Familiarity with benefits compliance regulations and reporting requirements. Summary of Accountabilities Maintain and update employee information, such as records of employeeattendance and leaves to calculate pay and benefit entitlements; Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses andvacation pay; Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross andnet salaries and deductions such as taxes, benefits and pension plans; Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including group insuranceand pension plan; Collaborate with HR team to develop and implement employee benefitscommunication strategies; Conduct research on industry trends to recommend improvements to existingbenefit programs; Verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits suchas pension plans, leaves, employment an group benefits, ensuring accurate andtimely enrolment of employees; Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-endtax documents, Records of Employment and other statements; Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summariesrelated to pay and benefits accounts; Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies; Support the day-to-day administration of the payroll and benefits administrationactivities; Provide ad hoc leave, vacation, compensation and human resources relatedreports through Payworks Absence Management system as required; Compile data from HR Analytics module (Payworks) for the purpose of analyzingissues and providing reporting useful for Management; Able to manage multiple administrative tasks with tight deadlines; Assist with Human Resources administration, including file maintenance asrequired; Other duties as assigned including willingness to work occasional weekendand/or stat holiday when they fall on bi-weekly payroll weeks.
