Mandatory Qualifications Certifications and Experience Graduate of an accredited college/university nursing program Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Current (2years) experience in labour/birthing or recovery Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate Fetal Health Surveillance in Labour certificate Perinatal Certificate Breastfeeding Certificate or Board Certified Lactation Consultant Able to perform venipuncture and I.V. starts Full vaccination against Covid19 or written proof of a medical or religious reason per provincial directive Mandatory Qualifications Core Competencies Excellent patient assessment skills Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a team focus Selfdirected with the ability to work independently and within an interprofessional team Commitment to continuing education and professionalism in nursing Creative problem solver with a customerfriendly approach Proven critical thinking skills; ability to multitask and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment Welldeveloped negotiation and conflictresolution skills Coach, teacher and mentor to colleagues and students Ability to establish work relationships with external partners Excellent attendance record Demonstrate stewardship in identifying, reporting, and mitigating unsafe acts or conditions (patient, worker & workplace safety) Preferred Qualifications HighRisk Obstetrical Certificate Advances in Labour and Risk Management (ALARM) certificate More OB certificate Accommodation The Brant Community Healthcare System is an equalopportunity employer, committed to employment equity and diversity in the workplace.
