Your opportunity Dillons Contaminant Assessment & Management discipline is looking for a Senior Hazardous Materials Specialist to fill an existing vacancy within our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience. This position could be based at our Calgary, Edmonton, Chatham, Guelph, Kitchener, London, Windsor, Downtown Toronto, North York, Hamilton, Oakville, Ottawa, with preference in Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton, Halifax, Sydney, St. Johns offices. Responsibilities What your day will look like Technical & Project Management Train and mentor staff on Hazardous Materials Assessments Establish and maintain standard protocols and reporting standards for Hazardous Materials Assessments Technical review and risk management for hazardous materials assessment and management projects Manage and coordinate projects and technical studies for a variety of environmental assignments Prepare and present reports and proposals Direct and instruct project team members including natural scientists, engineers, planners, technologists and technical support staff Enhance client relationships and develop new business opportunities with both public and private sector clients Learning & Development Commit to self-development and ongoing learning to stay knowledgeable of industry best practices and advancements in hazardous materials management and occupational health and safety Contribute to Dillon''s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees Contribute to the career advancement of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring Qualifications What you will need to succeed Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Hazardous Materials Management, Environmental or related disciplines Minimum 10 years demonstrable experience conducting all aspects of hazardous materials work, including large scale complex asbestos survey and abatement projects for industry and government clients Enthusiastic and positive attitude and commitment to technical excellence Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; must be able to read, comprehend and proof-read written reports and correspondence Experience Formal hazardous materials training Excellent technical knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, guidelines, best practices and monitoring protocols related to hazardous materials Strong computer skills, primarily with Microsoft Office programs Why choose Dillon?
