Overview Project: North Mine Location: Sudbury Rotation: 7days on, 7 days off Shift Length: 10.5 hours Salary Range: $75,000 - $125,000/annum, range is variable and dependent on overtime worked and production bonus paid Travel: Not provided Benefits: Redpath offers comprehensive benefits including but not limited to health, dental and vision care, life insurance, pension and employee assistance program Pre-employment requirement: Drug Test Responsibilities Inspect existing underground headings Scale loose rocks and if required have the ability to recognize and recommend to the mine department that they re-evaluate the area for ground conditions to ensure overall safety in specific work area Use of scaling bars, pneumatic hand-held drills, use of rubber-tired underground mobile equipment such as LHD (Load-Haul-Dump) units, scissor trucks, shotcrete sprayers and other support vehicles in a confined environment Other tasks associated with this position may include, but are not limited to, the installation of vent tubing (air, water and pumping lines), other construction work and maintenance jobs as required. Mentor and provide leadership to Construction Miner and Construction Labourer team members Operate and understand the operations of various types of underground equipment Operate hand-held drills such as jacklegs and stoppers The duties and Responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. Health And Safety Having the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment Following Redpath Canada Limited health and safety standards and systems, including the Five Point Safety System and the Cardinal Rules, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment required in the performance of the work. Must have knowledge of the WHMIS legislation and know how to effectively use an MSDS sheet. Comply with the Act and Mining Regulations that apply to the work area. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Basic literacy (read, write, basic math and read blue prints) (required) Ontario Hard Rock Underground Common Core Full Basic (or other provincial equivalent) Specialty Modules: U0085a, U0085b, U0085c & U0086 (or other provincial equivalent) (preferred) 2 years as construction worker prior to advancement to lead hand CWB Certified (preferred) Ability to read civil print Ability to multi task and work effectively Ability to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently Ability to make decisions quickly Knowledge of mining industry Ability to read, review and understand Standard Work Procedures, safety programs and applicable mine regulations Must have the ability to adapt to change About Us In 1962, Jim Redpaths vision for the company was much the same as it is today; offering a high level of service to the mining industry, which exceeds current standards and provides challenge for its employees.
