Role Overview As the Customs and Logistics Specialist, you are an integral member of the transportation and logistics team and will collaborate across the organization to deliver excellent service to our stakeholders. This role will report to the Senior Operations Manager. In this role, you will oversee the customs clearance from international shipments from all over the globe. As a Customs and Logistics Specialist, you will be up to date on the changing landscape across the world and help assist with mitigation plans to ensure the best decision is made for sourcing items to keep hospitals filled across Canada. Responsibilities Auditing commercial documents, applying HScodes, and ensure that all federal requirements are met. Ensure compliance with the Customs Act, D-memo, Canadian Free Trade Agreements, CUSMA, and Customs Tariff Act by applying expert knowledge to support accurate and compliant customs brokerage activities. Work in conjunction with customs brokers and carriers to ensure freight is cleared on time to avoid disruptions in Supply Chain. Maintain CARM portal and set delegation as necessary. Analyze transportation data to predict future tariffs impact with the changing global landscape. Develop and advise on mitigation plans with global and local policy changes. Assist with customs technical and operational inquiries from team members. May perform other tasks as required. Education and Experience Required University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field. 3+ relevant experience in a similar role, in a large complex matrixed environment. Familiarity with CARM and CBSA regulations. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) designation. Knowledge and Skills Required Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Excellent problem resolution skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize. Excellent organizational, communication, and process management skills. Strong timemanagement skills with the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks in a fastpaced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthcare, medical device industries preferred. Our pay is based on the role and the necessary skills and education to perform it successfully. The salary or hourly pay offered is determined by the roles specific requirements, including any applicable step rate pay system at the work location. Salary or hourly pay ranges are influenced by labor laws and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) requirements applicable to the work location which may also affect the workplace arrangement of the role.
