Job Description

Overview Position: Manager, Education Centre Starting Range: $43.21 $47.64 per hour Monday to Friday (35 hour work week) Location: 48 Syrette Lake Rd., Garden River, ON Garden River First Nation is hiring a Manager of our Education, where you will be in charge of all aspects of the day-to-day management: from ensuring staff and student welfare, managing finances, quality control, staffing and accommodation to dealing with clients. Garden River First Nation administers a variety of programs and services. Various department managers oversee their individual programs and overall administrative duties are overseen by a Chief Administrative Officer who is directly responsible to the Council who in turn are responsible to the membership. Responsibilities The Education Manager will be responsible for the management, planning, evaluation, administration, and delivery of the Education Centre services effectively integrating and coordinating the functions of the Education Centre and administration, ensuring the communication of objectives or work standard requirements through mutual understanding of job description content and authority limits. Provide leadership and supervision to Assistant Program Managers, Supervisors, and front-line program staff. Lead and oversee all aspects of the Education Elementary and AIM program, ensuring alignment with strategic plan, operational goals, and community needs across all program sites. Develop and implement assessment and evaluation protocols aligned with program outcomes, using data to inform improvement strategies. Analyze and manage program-level risks to ensure continuity, compliance, and safety. Qualifications Required three-year bachelors degree in Education or Degree in Business or related degree Required three years management experience Exceptional skills in program management and group facilitation. Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills. Outstanding problem-solving, conflict mediation, and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, Excellent computer skills (including MS Word, Word Perfect, Excel, Internet, Email, Outlook) Valid drivers license (preferred). Demonstrated sensitivity to and knowledge of First Nation cultural values and traditions.
