Overview A career in Deals Valuations will provide you with the opportunity to help organizations unlock greater value from existing businesses and assets as well as new acquisitions, investments, and complex corporate arrangements. Our focus is on valuations to support financial reporting, M&A, tax and corporate reorganizations, as well as valuation advice including deal pricing and value consulting to support management decisions related to transactions and corporate planning. As a member of our team, you will help clients make strategic decisions on value, conduct business transactions and decisions, and satisfy regulatory requirements by applying your professional skills and industry knowledge. Responsibilities Understand the business/assets being valued, its historical and projected performance, and key strengths and challenges. Conduct financial research into industry and economic conditions, discount rates/cost of capital, valuation multiples for relevant public companies and precedent transactions. Engage clients in discussions around their business, including operations and financial items, to advance valuation analysis. Prepare complex valuation models to support and arrive at valuation conclusions. Assist in report preparation. Perform audit support work including the review of purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment assessments, and private equity portfolio company valuations. Collaborate within the Deals group to deliver valuations alongside other services provided by PwC. Experiences and Skills An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, with openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work (strong command of Microsoft Excel, experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Python). A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard. Strong financial background with superior verbal and written communication skills, investigative mindset with attention to detail, ability to see the big picture, strong technical/analytical and project management skills, and ability to analyze business situations and interact professionally with clients and teams. Team player with a CPA/CA/CFA designation (other accounting or finance-based designations will be considered). The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Depending on location, ranges may vary. Base salary is determined by skills, experience, qualifications and work location. Eligible employees may participate in variable incentive pay programs designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements.
