Job Description - Respectful Workplace Advisor (54454)# Job Description| | || --- | --- || Respectful Workplace Advisor August 8, 2026 Job Number: 54454 *****This posting is for one (1) full-time Temporary position ending on or before August 8, 2026 ***** The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires a professional with a specific interest and skill set in Respectful Workplace matters including harassment, harassment investigations, human rights, conflict resolution, training, and employee conduct to support the EPS in maintaining an inclusive and respectful work environment. Working specifically with the EPS civilian and sworn positions, responsibilities of the role will include: * Act as a resource and subject matter expert in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedures, on issues related to workplace harassment, discrimination, human rights, and equity. * Manage harassment in the workplace files including intake, evaluation, and resolution. * Investigate harassment in the workplace complaints, including document review, interviewing parties and witnesses, and providing written analysis, findings, and recommendations for resolution. * Liaise with unions and other external partners for ad hoc requests, and to facilitate investigative and resolution processes. * Support and assist EPS staff and supervisors to appropriately and effectively respond to incidents of discrimination and/or harassment. * Deliver training on workplace harassment and discrimination to management, staff, recruits, and volunteers. * Ensure presentations and training materials are kept up to date and current. * Other related duties as required, such as the completion of investigative reports, and conducting sensitive interviews with complainants, police officer and civilian witnesses, and subject police officers. Qualifications : * A University degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources Management, Law, or other related discipline. * A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience. * Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, drafting briefings and investigation reports, including analysis and findings. * Demonstrated experience in facilitation, problem-solving and conflict resolution. * Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills are essential. * Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution and/or Restorative Conferencing would be considered an asset. * Working knowledge of the Alberta Human Rights Act and Police Service Regulation would be considered an asset. * Strong analytical, negotiation and administrative skills with a desire to serve. * Demonstrated ability to manage and work with sensitive/confidential information is a requirement. * The ability to work with minimal supervision and display self-direction and motivation is a requirement. * Organizational credibility and a high level of emotional intelligence is a requirement. * Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and time manage effectively. * Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external partnerships. * Strong written and verbal communication skills As part of your pre-hire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance.
