Role and responsibilities DIRECTOR, REAL ESTATE & LEASING : $145,634 - $171,334 (Annually) - actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Portfolio and Business Strategies, the Director, Real Estate, Leasing, & Portfolio Planning is responsible for providing leadership in capital planning, overseeing the lifecycle of real estate assets, real estate services including acquisition, development, and divestment of portfolio assets. The position develops and implements integrated real estate portfolio strategy and partners with branch executives on directly managed properties owned by BC Housing and the Provincial Rental Housing Corporation (PRHC). The role supports the AVP in the development and implementation of various Branch initiatives and directs the administration functions of the Real Estate and Leasing Team. Qualifications CANDIDATE PROFILE EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in Real Estate Management, Urban Planning, Business Administration or a relevant field. Extensive experience in leading major real estate portfolios, stakeholder consultation, economic and sustainable development, heritage conservation, and First Nation agreements. Extensive project development/management experience in a public sector organization. Considerable experience in developing economic opportunities. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Extensive knowledge and understanding of the planning, design, renewal, re-development and construction of multi-use properties. Extensive knowledge of the philosophies, practices, models and frameworks associated with project management. Considerable knowledge of real estate budgeting, fiscal responsibility and transparency. Strong understanding and knowledge of social housing and related issues. Excellent strategic and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent consultative, facilitation, consensus building, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Ability to learn and understand BC Housings mandate, programs and policies in delivering social housing programs throughout the province. Ability to lead the planning, design and delivery of significantly complex and multi-dimensional renewal and re-development projects, involving multiple partners and stakeholders. Ability to establish a high level of rapport with senior management, Executive, governments, social housing partners and other relevant stakeholders. Ability to utilize judgment in presenting issues, provide direction and influence in facilitating appropriate courses of action. Ability to lead, coach and motivate staff in a team environment.
