Head of Compliance AON INSURANCE MANAGERS (BERMUDA) LTD. Aon in Bermuda provides (re)insurance broking, agency services, captive management, insurance management, and consultancy services. In addition, the successful candidate will also provide clients of the insurance manager with compliance related support services and subject matter expertise. The position of a Compliance Officer protects the reputation of Aon and its clients in Bermuda. What the day will look like Acting as the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for all Aon Bermuda regulated entities and leading the Compliance function within Aon Bermuda. This involves the provision of subject matter expertise on compliance and regulatory matters to all staff members, including but not limited to, anti-money laundering (AML) & anti-terrorist financing (ATF), economic sanctions, data privacy, and client due diligence. Leading, training and developing the Compliance team. Responsible for overseeing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, with particular focus on the Insurance Act 1978, and the applicable codes of conduct for each of the regulated Aon Bermuda entities. Preparation and oversight of key compliance policies and procedures, including but not limited to: governance manual, risk management framework, AML & ATF, economic sanctions, client due diligence, compliance policy and compliance assurance plans. Provision of compliance services to companies that come under management. Drafting and presentation of Board of Directors and Committee papers for Aon Bermuda entities and clients. Act as a Committee member foron Bermuda entities and clients with respect to governance, risk and compliance. Conducting training to staff on a number of subject areas, including but not limited to AML & ATF, economic sanctions, GRC, and data privacy. Primary point of contact with the Bermuda Monetary Authority and Financial Intelligence Agency for any regulatory and/or suspicious activity related matters, including on-site examinations. Deep understanding of sanctions screening software, Bridger, and compliance assurance software, GRC. Facilitating and leading sessions with other key stakeholders within the broader Aon group to ensure standard methodologies are implemented. Skills and experience that will lead to success Legal degree, accounting qualification (ACA, CPA, etc.) or other professional regulatory qualification is required. The International Diploma in Compliance or equivalent qualification is required. Significant risk and compliance expertise, with a focus on operating in a large global organization. A minimum of 5 years in the role of Compliance Manager/Officer within the (re)insurance industry. Experience with alternative risk transfer / captive operations, broking and managing agents, and segregated accounts companies is essential. Comprehensive understanding and experience of implementing risk and control frameworks with respect to the following is critical: Insurance Act; Insurance Brokers and Insurance Agents Code of Conduct; Insurance Code of Conduct; Insurance Managers Code of Conduct; Insurance Sector Cyber Risk Management Code of Conduct; Proceeds of Crime Act and associated regulations relating to AML & ATF and economic sanctions. Significant experience liaising with Csuite and Board of Directors on all compliance related matters. Prior supervisory and personnel management experience is required. Strong communicator; written and verbal. Strong presentation skills. Strong advocacy skills allied to strong lateral thinking abilities. Legal, analytical and policy interpretation ability.
