Immigration Paralegal / Legal Assistant Location: Edmonton, Alberta (In-office) Our client is a well-established immigration law firm seeking a detail-oriented Immigration Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join their growing team. This role offers hands-on involvement in a wide range of Canadian immigration matters and direct client interaction in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, review, and submit immigration applications to IRCC , AAIP , and related authorities (temporary residence, permanent residence, work permits, study permits, family sponsorships, etc.) Manage client files from intake to completion, including tracking deadlines and maintaining accurate records Communicate directly with clients to gather documentation, provide updates, and explain processes Draft correspondence, forms, and supporting documentation Liaise with government agencies, third parties, and internal team members Maintain compliance with Alberta and federal immigration regulations Assist lawyers with ongoing file management and administrative support as needed Qualifications: Previous experience in Canadian immigration law as a legal assistant or paralegal is preferred Strong knowledge of IRCC processes and immigration forms is preferred Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills Professional and confident client communication skills Ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines Paralegal diploma or Legal Assistant certificate is an asset Why Join: Meaningful, client-focused work Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity for professional growth in immigration law Competitive compensation based on experience Benefits provided Parking available At Aplin together with our brands CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
