Senior Platform Engineer Istio / Ingress Remote (Canada) Contract Role Summary Join the Boundary Services team to own the ingress and service mesh layer for a large-scale, cloud-native platform. This role focuses on Istio-based traffic routing, gateways, and reliability in production Kubernetes environments. What Youll Do Own and operate Istio ingress gateway and service mesh Design and manage traffic routing, retries, timeouts, and mTLS Build and standardize ingress patterns for multiple teams Debug production traffic and gateway issues Set best practices for boundary and ingress architecture Must-Have Skills Hands-on Istio in production (IngressGateway, VirtualService, DestinationRule) Kubernetes (EKS / AKS / GKE) Ingress, API Gateway, and load balancers (ALB / NLB / AGA) Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP Strong networking fundamentals (TLS, routing)
