Job Description

Responsibilities: Perform day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support, including: Database error/alert monitoring & troubleshooting Database logs review and troubleshooting Database backup/recovery jobs/tasks review Performance monitoring and tuning Storage and capacity planning and management Database objects management Database change management Security/auditing Identify security gaps and vulnerabilities, identify and implement mitigations (e.g., patches) Installing, configuring, patching work related to projects User and profile management Create a Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) document to assist operational staff (non-DBAs) in their duties regarding Oracle database environments. Perform regular assessment of the existing Oracle databases/environments, and make recommendations regarding: Maintenance and leading practices. Changes required to address production issues (e.g., instability, poor performance) and risks. Improvements to operational procedures (e.g., backup/restore) to align to standard methodology and industry best practices, taking into account the amount and criticality of the systems. Recommendations for disaster recovery and non-production environments. Database upgrade options and approaches, informed by overall solution refresh plans and industry best practices. Implement approved recommendations as described above. Provide guidance and outline best practices for incorporating future database requirements into the environment. Contribute to a team culture of collaboration, excellence and innovation. Develop or inform the development of role descriptions for the development and sustainment of OPS/BPS Secure and PKI OIM. Develop plans for the knowledge and skills transfer to OPS employees, including activities or tests to demonstrate the successful transfer of knowledge and attainment of required skills. Transfer knowledge to OPS employees. Requirements Experience and Skill Set Requirements Sustainment of Large Database Systems: 40% 10+ years of experience in deploying and administering Oracle databases within an operations environment. 5+ years of experience in supporting Oracle IAM suite database. 5+ years of DBA experience supporting Oracle databases for large mission-critical enterprise solutions. 10+ years of experience designing, making recommendations for, and implementing high availability database environments. Working knowledge of migration strategies for Oracle databases versions 11g, 12c and 19c. Experience with Oracle in Solaris 10 environments running on Sun Platforms, and RedHat Linux environment. Solutions Leadership: 30% 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining large implementations based on the Oracle Database product. Experience with ITIL processes such as Service Level Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, and Capacity Management. Problem Management and Incident Management:20% 10+ years of experience with triaging, analyzing, diagnosing (troubleshooting), evaluating options, and resolving database problems. Quality Assurance: 10% 10+ years of experience with quality control and assurance methodologies and practices as applied to the implementation of database with over 10,000 records. Experience with Change Management and Release Management as processes supporting the implementation of large applications. Must Have: 10+ years of experience in deploying and administering Oracle databases within an operations environment. 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining large implementations based on the Oracle Database product. 5+ years of experience in supporting Oracle IAM suite database. 5+ years of DBA experience supporting Oracle databases for large mission-critical enterprise solutions.
