Clean Harbors in Calgary, AB is seeking an Equipment Operator (Class 1 licensed) to join their safety conscious team This role involves operating heavy equipment within company/customer facilities to stage and move waste material. The role will also require performing labor-intensive duties such as hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials. The position can also require working in confined spaces for tank and vessel cleaning. Responsibilities: Operate and transport wet vacs, dry vacs, steam trucks, and related industrial equipment. Perform tank/vessel cleaning and hazardous waste cleanup, including maneuvering large hoses. Conduct pre-/post-trip inspections and ensure safe, proper equipment operation, report issues promptly. Respond to emergencies involving chemical/biological spills and support routine decontamination tasks. Operate light/heavy equipment (pumps, vac systems, generators, bobcats) and use various hand and powered industrial tools. Maintain equipment and follow all safety and environmental procedures. Qualifications: Vacuum Truck Operating experience required. Ability to drive manual transmission. Willing to work after hours/nights for emergency response purposes. Willing to work out of town for extended periods of time. Class 1 license required. Clean driving record and reliable transportation. Able to work in all weather conditions. Strong mechanical aptitude. Safety tickets (First Aid/CPR, H2S Alive, etc.) highly preferred.
