Since our inception in 2012, Steel Reef has supported the energy community in capturing wasted energy, processing and distributing associated natural gas and other products, and bringing in net new energy production and distribution for homes, communities and businesses. Focusing our efforts within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Bakken Resource Play, Steel Reef has become a market leader in developing the emissions-to-energy practice to supply net new energy from flare gas, a previously unavailable source. In 2024, Steel Reef entered into multiple long-term Power Purchase Agreements with SaskPower. Following construction of additional utility-grade electricity substations and generation turbines powered by recovered flare gas, Steel Reef will provide more than 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity within Saskatchewan and North Dakota, which could power more than 100,000 homes annually. Scheduler Position Profile: As part of a Flare Gas to Power Infrastructure company, the Scheduler will have the opportunity to contribute immediately and learn marketing and logistics aspects of different commodities. This position is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing the movement of commodities via truck and pipeline, while also providing mid-office support to the marketing team. The successful candidate will be personable, have strong analytical and communication skills, and a passion for learning. This position will be based out of the Calgary office, reporting directly to the Team Lead, Logistics. Key Responsibilities: Production forecasting and inventory management for natural gas liquids (NGLs) and condensate Manage, coordinate, and optimize transportation arrangements for receipts and deliveries of NGLs and condensate, including trucking and pipeline Manage product nominations to pipelines for NGLs and condensate in Canada and US Work closely with internal and external teams on quality, specifications, inventories, production and outages Work with the Gas Marketing team for coverage Work closely with transportation service providers. Act as the primary point of escalation for transportation issues, including production interruptions, weather delays, or road construction that impact efficiency Develop and maintain strong relationships with all counter parties Some evening/on call work is required Assist accounting teams with month-end activities, including the reporting of volumes and calculating accruals for freight and wait-time Provide information to marketers and traders to optimize marketing arrangements Required Skills, Experience & Education: BComm, Engineering, Accounting, or other relevant post-secondary education 3+ years of related experience prior experience with liquids/crude scheduling preferred Understanding of commodity markets, marketing processes, billings, logistics and cycles NGL or crude scheduling experience required; rail experience is an asset Positive attitude Ability to perform well under pressure Team player with company wide perspective Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail oriented Prioritization on ''Going above and beyond'' Passionate about career and contributing towards company growth Why Join our Team: Competitive compensation and bonus programs Competitive benefit package, including a Flex Spending Account and Savings Plan matching Monthly phone allowance 8 hours of annual paid Volunteer time to support the communities in which we operate Team building activities Various recognition reward programs including long-term service awards and value-based awards Ability to contribute to a dynamic organization with large growth ambitions Our Steel Reef team has returned to the office, however, to provide our employees with flexibility, we have implemented a trial hybrid work model where employees have the option to work from home four (4) days per month.
