This role oversees the go-to-market and demand planning process for promotional and in-store initiatives, ensuring alignment across Category, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing to ensure alignment and effective execution. This role also manages relationships with licensed producers (LPs), including ongoing operation and evolution of our retail data program.With a focus on commercial performance, this role leads the planning and execution of initiatives that support product sell-through, strengthen in-store experiences, and improve margin performance. This is a highly visible role that partners closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.---Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Commercialization Planning Lead the development of the retail commercialization calendar, aligning product launches, campaigns, and promotional strategies with business objectives. Act as the strategic lead for in-store execution, ensuring initiatives are commercially sound and operationally feasible.Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment Own commercialization execution and campaign coordination. Serve as the senior point of contact across Category, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure flawless execution. Champion cross-functional planning processes that drive visibility, accountability, and results.Promotions & Loyalty Strategy & Execution Translate promotions and loyalty strategies into executable retail plans that meet margin, traffic, and revenue goals. Evaluate promo effectiveness, ROI, and category impact using post-event analysis and business reporting.Vendor & Partner Commercial Planning Own relationship with vendors and brand partners on promotions, product launches, and in-store support. Oversee the Cannabis retail data program, partnering with licensed producers (LPs) on data insights Ensure strong ROI and executional excellence on all campaigns.Inventory & Demand Optimization Lead Demand Planning function while working with Supply Chain to align inventory levels to demand-driving activity (e.g., promotions, markdowns). Develop and lead strategies to mitigate aged or excess inventory through targeted retail tactics.Performance & Continuous Improvement Lead performance reviews of key retail campaigns, identifying insights and process improvements. Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on campaign performance, promo results, and inventory impact.---Qualifications 7+ years in retail merchandising, category management, or retail / trade marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. Proven track record leading cross-functional retail initiatives and improving commercial performance. Strong understanding of retail pricing, promotions, inventory, and margin levers. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools; comfort with retail systems and campaign tracking platforms. Experience in a CPG or regulated industry is an asset.
